Jella Apps

Jella Games privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

This notice explains how Jella Apps handles personal information across its Jella Games apps, on jella.app and when you contact us. It brings together the previously separate Word Cross and Word Blocks privacy notices. The services used depend on the app and version you install.

Apps, versions and scope

Other Jella games may have different app-specific services and privacy information. Contact us with the game name and version if you need details about another installation.

Who is responsible

Jella Apps, based in the United Kingdom, is responsible for information handled by Jella Apps. For support or privacy requests, email admin@jella.uk.

Loopy Lines

Loopy Lines is intended for players aged 13 and above, including teenagers. It is not specifically directed at children under 13. The game does not ask for your age or date of birth, and does not ask you to create a Jella account. The version identified above has no in-app purchases, cloud saves or separate analytics or crash-reporting service.

Your level progress and sound preference are stored on your device. You do not need to provide your name, email address or precise location to play. Clearing the app's storage can erase local progress. Device and platform backup settings may affect what is available after a reinstall.

Loopy Lines uses Google AdMob for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded Ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform for regional consent and advertising privacy choices. We request non-personalised Ads for everyone. The game does not use an age screen or choose different advertising settings based on a player's stated age.

Non-personalised Ads are not the same as anonymous or data-free Ads. Google's advertising services can still process IP addresses, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and advertising identifiers, app and Ad interactions, and diagnostic information. These can be used for Ad delivery, frequency limits, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention. Google's provider notices explain its processing in more detail.

The game checks Google's consent information at launch and only enables Ad requests when Google reports they are permitted. Where required, Google's consent form is shown before Ads are enabled. A form may not appear on every launch if a valid choice is already stored or a form is not required for your region. Non-personalised advertising can still require consent for device storage or identifiers.

A rewarded Ad is optional. The game explains that completing it lets you skip to the next level; the reward is credited after the provider confirms it was earned. Ads and external links require an internet connection; the core puzzles can be played offline. This version of Loopy Lines does not include the Unity Ads SDK.

Open Privacy & info in Loopy Lines for this privacy policy, font licences and advertising choices. Where Google requires a way to revisit consent, select Ad privacy options in that panel to open Google's consent settings. The game requests non-personalised Ads for everyone, regardless of these choices. Consent may still be needed for device storage and other advertising-related processing. A valid saved consent choice may mean the form does not appear on every launch.

Google's advertising SDK may also process identifiers related to signed-in accounts on the device where applicable. This does not create a Jella account. Advertising-SDK data is encrypted in transit. See Google's SDK data disclosure and Google's privacy policy for its processing and controls.

Private Word Ladder prototype

The private Word Ladder version 0.4.0-private (com.jella.wordladder.devtest) is intended for players aged 13 and above. It does not ask for your age or date of birth, or require a Jella account. It is still being tested and is not publicly available on Google Play.

Progress, completed levels, diamond balances and records used to avoid duplicate rewards or hint charges are stored on your device. Clearing storage or removing the app can erase this information; platform backup settings may affect recovery. There is no separate Jella cloud-save, analytics or crash-reporting service in this prototype.

This version includes Google Mobile Ads with Google's sample Ad units and the User Messaging Platform for testing advertising and regional privacy choices. Ad requests are gated by Google's consent status and request non-personalised Ads. Forms or Ads may be unavailable while the app's advertising setup is being completed. Test advertising is not necessarily anonymous or data-free: Google's SDK can process IP addresses, approximate location, device/account identifiers, interactions and diagnostic information, as described in Google's SDK disclosure and privacy policy. SDK data is encrypted in transit.

Open Privacy & info for this policy and Ad privacy options to revisit Google's form where required and available. A previously stored choice may mean a form is not shown on every launch. Unity Editor previews simulate test Ads locally.

A completed optional rewarded Ad gives 100 in-game diamonds; closing early gives none. A replacement-letter hint costs 150 diamonds and the position clue is free. Live purchases are disabled in this private version. Its store shows preview prices, and players cannot make Google Play purchases through it. The policy will be updated before any public release with live purchasing.

Updated Word Connect and Block Puzzle

This section covers the modernised 2026 editions and labelled recovery-test builds of Word Connect (com.jella.wordconnect) and Block Puzzle (com.JElla.BlockPuzzle). Older installations may use different providers or privacy controls.

These editions are intended for players aged 13 and above. They do not ask for your age or date of birth, create a Jella account or provide Jella cloud saves. Progress, in-game currency, preferences and purchase-fulfilment records are stored on your device. Clearing app storage may erase local data; device backup settings can also affect restoration.

They use Google AdMob for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded Ads. We request non-personalised Ads for everyone. Google may still process IP addresses, approximate location, device and advertising identifiers, app and Ad interactions and diagnostic information for Ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention. Non-personalised Ads are not data-free Ads.

Google's User Messaging Platform checks advertising consent at launch. Where required, its form is shown before Ad requests are permitted. A valid saved choice may mean the form does not appear on every launch. Available choices can be reopened through the game's Settings privacy controls. Non-personalised advertising can still require consent for device storage or identifiers. Rewarded Ads are optional, with the reward stated before viewing and credited after the provider's confirmation.

Purchases use Google Play and Unity In-App Purchasing. Unity's purchase service receives purchase and receipt information, product and transaction details, installation/session identifiers, technical device information and country derived from IP address. Its purchase reporting can run without a separate Unity Analytics package and is not switched off by Google's advertising-consent choice. Optional Unity profiling is disabled in these editions. Google processes payment information; Jella does not receive full payment-card details. These editions have no Jella webshop. Unity’s purchase SDK may also process crash logs, diagnostic and app-performance information, as described in its Google Play data disclosures.

The old automatic Unity Analytics and Crash Reporting services are disabled. This does not disable Google advertising diagnostics or Unity purchase-service reporting. See Unity's purchase-service privacy information and Unity's player privacy policy. Unity may act on our behalf or for its own disclosed transaction, security and legal purposes; privacy requests are routed according to that role.

Core gameplay can be used offline. Ads, store purchases, restoration and external links need an internet connection. The updated editions do not include the Unity Ads advertising SDK.

Game progress and purchases

In the Word Cross and Word Blocks versions identified above, each game stores progress, diamond balances, settings and records needed to avoid duplicate purchase rewards on your device. Clearing the game's storage can erase that information. Uninstalling, restoring a device backup or reinstalling may affect what remains available. Your device or platform backup settings may also apply.

Purchases are processed by Google Play using Unity In-App Purchasing. Product identifiers, purchase status and transaction information are used to deliver purchased items, check entitlements and handle purchase restoration where supported. JElla does not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play. Google handles payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Unity's documentation for its purchase service describes processing of player and installation identifiers, device information, session identifiers and country, together with purchase-related information. The information processed depends on the services and features in use. These versions of Word Cross and Word Blocks do not offer a separate JElla webshop or ask you to create a JElla account.

Advertising and your choices

The Word Cross and Word Blocks versions identified above use Google AdMob for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded advertising. Google’s advertising services collect and share information such as IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device and advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information. This supports advertising, measurement, analytics, security and fraud prevention.

Where required, a Google consent message explains advertising choices. You can revisit available choices through the game's Settings privacy control. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Declining personalised advertising does not necessarily remove ads or all processing needed to deliver them. Your device may also offer controls to reset or delete its advertising identifier.

Rewarded ads are optional. The offer states the reward before you choose to watch; the game credits the reward after receiving the ad provider's reward confirmation. The updated versions identified above no longer use the Unity Ads advertising SDK. Older installed versions may still include Unity Ads; see Unity's privacy policy for its data practices.

Support and website visits

If you email us, we receive your address, message and attachments. Please send only information needed to resolve your enquiry and do not send passwords or payment-card details.

IONOS provides hosting and email infrastructure. Server logs can include IP address, requested page, time, browser information and error information for operation, security and troubleshooting. The pages do not use a separate JElla analytics service or account forms. Some game pages offer an embedded YouTube video preview. A local preview image is shown first; the YouTube player is loaded only when you press Play. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding domain (youtube-nocookie.com). Playing the video connects your browser to Google/YouTube, which can receive your IP address, browser/device information and playback interactions under its own privacy practices. Privacy-enhanced mode does not make video playback anonymous or data-free. You can instead use the clearly labelled YouTube link. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. See Google’s privacy policy and YouTube’s embedding information.

Why we use information

Providers may also process information for their own purposes under their own privacy notices.

Who receives information and international processing

Relevant recipients include Google for advertising, consent and payments; Unity for purchase-service functionality, reporting and related security; and IONOS for hosting and email. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell the contents of your support correspondence.

These providers operate internationally, and information may be processed outside the UK. Applicable protections depend on the provider and destination, including adequacy arrangements or contractual safeguards where required. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your request. Provider information is available from Google, Unity and IONOS. These notices supplement this notice.

How long information is kept

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to certain processing. Email admin@jella.uk. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. We will explain if a right does not apply or records must be retained.

For information processed on our behalf by a provider, we will coordinate the request where appropriate. For information a provider controls independently, we may direct you to its privacy request process. Removing the game does not automatically delete provider-held records or Google Play purchase history.

You can raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or your local data-protection authority.

Young players

Word Cross, Word Blocks, Loopy Lines and the updated Word Connect and Block Puzzle editions described above are intended for players aged 13 and above, including teenagers. These games are not specifically directed at children under 13. The intended audience of other Jella Games apps has not been confirmed; consult any app-specific information for those games. If you believe a child has provided information that should not have been collected, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Parents and guardians can also use the device's purchase and parental controls.

Changes

We update this notice when our practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required.
